welcome to the studio

great things don’t happen always on the first try so we want to share our design process to take something from idea to product

check out how we made products currently available and see sneak peeks of whats coming

Two portable aluminum hangboards for rock climbing on a blue background, the left one is the 12:8 block, the right one is the 20:10 block, both are made of metal with an engraving that reads "tenoclock", black nylon rope attached to each

the 20:10 and 12:8 blocks are the result of months of designing, prototyping, machining, and user testing to create the best possible version of a classic training tool

our aim was to create a strong, lightweight, and infinitely portable block, just two great edges on each

over a dozen prototypes we made improvements to the weight, size, shape, edge comfort, sling, texture, manufacturing accuracy, engraving, feel, and every other little detail

each block is made from a single piece of 6061 aluminum, precision cnc machined to 0.01mm accuracy over three milling operations

each block is carefully sandblasted, strung, tied, and dipped by hand

A computer aided design file of the 20:10 block milling toolpath, a blocky model of the product sits in the middle with are contour lines showing the toolpath around it and a milling toolhead above.
Close up photo of the 20:10 block being machined, the product is held in a vice on the cnc machining bed with coolant and metal chips scattered around.
